미얀마 지진 긴급구호 안내
Into Mission x Deep and Wide Foundation
지난 4월 7일, 규모 7.7의 강진이 미얀마를 강타한 이후, 3,500명이 넘는 사망자와 1,700만 명의 피해자가 발생했습니다. 그러나 미얀마 실정상 구호 장비가 부족하고, 구조 시스템도 제대로 작동하지 않고 있으며, 그나마 진행되는 구호활동 역시 큰 도시와 주요 관광지를 중심으로 제한적으로 이루어지고 있는 상황입니다. 실제로 심각한 피해를 입은 내륙과 외곽 지역은 거의 방치된 상태입니다.
지진은 미얀마에서 두번째로 큰 도시인 만달레이의 북쪽 지역에서 발생했으며, Deep and Wide Foundation은 미얀마 선교에 오랫동안 헌신해 온 Into Mission과 협력하여 작년 터키 지진 피해지역에 긴급구호를 지원했던 것과 같이 미얀마에도 하나님의 마음으로 긍휼을 나누고자 합니다.
들려오는 소식으로 미뤄 현장상황을 짐작해 볼 때 지진 피해지역은 터키가 넓었지만 구호상황은 미얀마 지역이 더 열악하고 어려움이 많이 보입니다. 심각한 부상을 당한 사람들도 적절한 긴급조치를 받지 못하고 있고, 기본적인 약품을 구하지 못해 고통 속에 방치되고 있으며, 지진으로 인해 발생한 수많은 사망자들의 수습도 적절히 되지 못한 채 방치되거나, 포대에 싸여 안치되고 있다고 합니다. 생존자들 역시 물과 식량, 위생 용품을 구할 수 없고, 전기가 끊어진 채 미얀마의 더위와 어두움 속에서 위험에 노출되어 있습니다.

Myanmar Earthquake Emergency Relief
Into Mission x Deep and Wide Foundation
On April 7, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck northern Myanmar, near the Mandalay region.Over 3,500 people have died, and more than 17 million have been affected.
Due to limited rescue equipment and inadequate emergency systems, aid efforts are concentrated in major cities and tourist areas. However, many of the severely affected regions remain unreached. Local resources are overwhelmed, and access to basic medical care, clean water, and essential supplies is limited.
In many places, the injured are unable to receive treatment, and essential medicines are unavailable. Bodies of those who did not survive are being recovered without proper systems in place, often wrapped in tarps and left in temporary conditions.
Survivors are exposed to extreme heat without clean water, food, hygiene items, or electricity.
Deep and Wide Foundation is partnering with Into Mission, a ministry that has served in Myanmar for many years. With local workers already on the ground, we are preparing to support direct relief efforts in areas where help is most needed.
A small team will travel to Myanmar from April 27 to May 1 to deliver supplies and assess needs firsthand.
